Green Bay (GBAPS) Schools

As an International Baccalaureate World School, we guide and develop lifelong learners who use knowledge and skills to positively impact our diverse world” is our mission at Franklin Middle School. We are a public neighborhood school with a richly diverse community of learners. In June, 2013, Franklin Middle School became the first authorized MYP school in the area and is part of the International Baccalaureate continuum in the Green Bay Area Public School District. Within our IB continuum, students have the opportunity to engage in an IB education from pre Kindergarten until high school graduation through Chappell Elementary for PYP, Franklin for MYP years 1-3, West High School for MYP years 4 and 5, and DP.  Franklin Middle School and West High School became an IB recognized MYP Partnership Program in 2024.

Green Bay West High School, a richly diverse school of 1,000 students, became the 12th school in the state of Wisconsin to be authorized as an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme World School in the spring of 2011. Our students are engaged in a wide array of co-curricular activities, including all major athletic programs, an active theater arts program, and many student organizations. We have modern classrooms, including newer science facilities, classrooms recently updated with document cameras and projectors, and lessons that incorporate technology. Likewise, all IB students and teachers are equipped with Google Chromebooks for the duration of their time in the IB program in order to facilitate multi-faceted learning. We are able to deliver a high quality education that provides a high school diploma and the opportunity for an IB Diploma. As further demonstration of our commitment to growing and developing the IB DP Programme, we continue to expand the array of courses offered to all students.

In May 2018, West High School was authorized to offer the IB Middle Years Programme School. This means that Grade 9 and 10 students in the Green Bay Area Public School District have the unique opportunity to be immersed in the IB continuum from kindergarten until they graduate from high school - from Chappell Elementary, to Franklin Middle School, to West High School.  West High School and Franklin Middle School became an IB recognized MYP Partnership Program in 2024.
